Successful Fundarising Events

LLCrafts - BHF ‘Heart Hero’ Award

Award Event
In 2007, the Northern Ireland fundraising event that I was involved in raised the fantastic sum of £3500

The ‘British Heart Foundation - NI’ held their first ever annual meeting in Cookstown and myself, along with other fundraisers, were presented with this beautiful award in recognition of my voluntary work. The annual meeting was chaired by BBC Northern Ireland sports presenter Jackie Fullerton (who is also my second cousin) and had main speakers Peter Hollins (BHF London) and Marjory Burns (BHF-NI Director Edinburgh/Belfast).

So, it was a very interesting and fulfilling event, and it helps to show how easy it is to fundraise, small or big. For BHF fundraising contact Gary Wilson at 028 686 32828 at wilsong@bhf.org.uk

It’s fun and worthwhile! So why not try it!

Knitting for Charity
Catch the ‘Knitting Bug’

In our spare time, we love to knit little jumpers for needy children in third world countries. Its a great worthwhile hobby, perfect for ‘de-stressing’ also!

Happy Knitting
The wee jumpers are simple to knit, with just knit and pearl stitching, using any colours you fancy. You can email me at info@llcrafts.co.uk for the simple knitting pattern.

Worthy Charity Cause
Our jumpers go to our local ‘Drop Inn Ministries’ charity shop, Ballymena. The shop manager Paul and Dorothy, along with others work ever so hard, always smiling. This wonderful charity sets up projects all over the world in countries such as Belarus (Chernobyl), Brazil, Rwanda, etc. Visit www.dropinn.net to read more.

So, call in to 1 of their 17 shops or phone the Ballymena Branch on 028 2564 2227. Pick up one of the charities brochures when you visit.

So, catch the ‘knitting bug’ for a worthy cause!
Ask in at your nearest charity shop!
