BHF – ‘Red for Heart’
in February National Heart Month
1. Fundraising Event
All of my painting class students (in Ballymena, Tullygarley, Tamlaght O’Crilly, Casteldawson and Antrim) and my February ‘Painting Workshop’ joined me in ‘Red for Heart’ by wearing red clothing.
The students in all my classes are fantastic people, a ‘great bunch of people’ always willing to have a bit of fun and support a good cause aswell.
A huge thank you to them all for their support.

2. Fundraising Event
There were two competition choices held at our local Galgorm Post Office.
- ‘Choose a Heartthrob’ to win my wee pastel print.
- ‘Win an IPAD’ where a winner will be chosen by BHF.

Magherafelt & Cookstown
Breast Cancer Support Group
Charity Cause
The Magherafelt & Cookstown Breast Cancer Support Group – was formed in 1995 by Frances Gillespie and Sister Margaret Moore of the ‘Breast Cancer Unit’, then in the Masserene Hospital in Antrim.
Thirty to forty breast cancer survivors and friends meet monthly for friendship and fun, involving group outings and speaker talks on crafts, beauty, flower arranging and more. The group offers support and befriending services for Breast Cancer sufferers, and actively enjoy fundraising in a variety of ways yearly.

Shopmobility - Ballymena
‘Beetle Drive’ Fun Evening
Fundraising Event
We hosted our 1st successful ‘Beetle Drive’ for Shopmobility- Ballymena, at Tullygarley Community Centre.
Charity Cause
Shopmobility is a service that provides motorised scooters, wheelchairs and physical assistance to people with mobility difficulties, in cities, towns and shopping centres all over Northern Ireland. In the Ballymena shop you will find Sandra and Liz, and very friendly volunteers ready to help you to enjoy your trip around Ballymena town.

‘United Response’ Charity
London Marathon Run by Simon Wood
Fundraising Event
Fellow Co. Antrim, N.I. man ‘Simon Wood’ successfully took on the challenge of running the ‘London Marathon’ to raise funds for the worthy charity ‘United Response’ and is continuing to collect money at www.virginmoneygiving.com. So please help him reach his fundraising target.

United Response is a national charity that supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities to take control of their lives, by coaching people into work, working with families, and providing outreach support, and other activities.
